With single sided composites such as J•DRAIN 200,400 and 700, the flat side is placed against the wall and the fabric side faces the soil backfill. With J•DRAIN SWD, a multi-sided drainage composite, either side can face the wall and/or soil.

The adhesive needs to be compatible with the waterproofing membrane. Liquid Nails is a common one. The only time it is acceptable to nail through J•DRAIN into the waterproofing membrane is if the w/p membrane you are using is bentonite, which swells when wet.

J•DRAIN is provided in a plastic cover which provides protection against elements and ultra Violet damage from the sunlight. Unwrapped J•DRAIN should not be stored outside for extended periods of time as it is subject to ultra violet degradation.

The melting point of the fabric is approximately 300 degrees. The asphalt would need to be cooler than 300. If not, place a thin sand layer down.
